Many undesirable behaviours in horses such as bucking, rearing and running off are often as a result of our actions (ie. bad riding such as hanging on the mouth for balance can teach a horse to rear (as a means to escape pain), or ill fitting tack can make a horse buck (to be rid of the pain) and so forth.
There are ways with the True Natural Horsemanship method to lessen or eliminate these behaviours. The question every horse owner needs to ask, " Am I prepared to do the work to change an unwanted behaviour?" There are no quick fixes - your horse did not learn the behaviour quickly and it will take persistence, time and effort for an effective change.
Horses are resilient and learn to cooperate when the behaviour is no longer beneficial.
- A horse that you can work and practice with is required (the horse
does not have to be your own!).
- The True Natural Horsemanship foundation course with a Certificate of Completion.
